Verdict
This race looks a contender for the strongest sprint handicap ever to be run on the AW and few of the field can be discounted with confidence. 2024 winner Fivethousandtoone, the well-handicapped Wiltshire and Ferrous all feature prominently in calculations but the two to appeal most are Lakers and MARSHMAN. Today's stiff 6f should prompt further progress from Lakers but Marshman has been easing his way back into form this winter and is now 5lb lower than for his close third here 12 months ago.
