Three of the market leaders were declared to contest last Saturday's Scottish National but did not do so when the ground turned heavy. The vote therefore goes to MONTREGARD (nap) who stamped his authority on two Ascot handicaps this season in highly encouraging fashion. Road To Home also needs to prove his stamina but represents Willie Mullins and ran Ask Brewster close over 3m2f at Cheltenham. Havaila and In d'Or, who were not declared for the Scottish National, are among those disputing favouritism and Havaila can give the selection most to think about judged on the way he's come good in such splendid style for two wins in the last five weeks.[Richard Austen]
