This Grade 1 handicap is staged for just the first time and it has attracted an interesting field. The two renewals to date have been won by horses carrying just 10st12lb and 10st6lb, so it could be a tough ask for both Ziggle Pops, an excellent third in the Grade 1 Iroquois Hurdle, and Little Trilby, recent winner of the Grade 1 Commonwealth Cup and the mount of Jack Kennedy. The latter is in red-hot form and is unlucky not to be on a five-timer. Jockey Conor Tierney had struck up a really good relationship with Little Trilby but rides stablemate Hidden Path. Hidden Path definitely has the ability to win on his best form but invariably is given too much ground to make up. Richard Hendriks also run the ex-Gordon Elliott trained Coutach, who has been racing at a lower level but should be competitive of this weight. JIMMY P is a multiple Grade 1 winner, including twice over course and distance, most recently in the Jonathan Sheppard Hurdle in August last year. Expect him to come on a lot from his reappearance behind Little Trilby last time. Danny Mullins also heads over to ride the ex-Gordon Elliott trained We're Back Again but there is little to suggest that he is well handicapped here. While McTigue, who had Grade 2 winning form for Emmet Mullins four years ago, looks reasonably handicapped on his best form - but has clearly had a lot of injuries having raced just twice in three years.
