The 'Met Mile' is usually one of the best races of the season and the 2026 line-up is duly outstanding. The fact it is run over the quirky Wilson Chute course (one and a half turns) adds some confusion, however. Perhaps Knightsbridge will bounce back to his sequence of outstanding time performances, but how do you support him after such a bad run? Nysos is the form choice and well capable of giving weight all round, but JOURNALISM should be spot on here; he duelled hard with the brilliant Sovereignty at Oaklawn on his reappearance before tiring, and he has always appealed as a candidate to improve over shorter distances than 1m1f. Antiquarian (second choice) is worth a saver on the return to the scene of his greatest triumph. [James Willoughby]
