Verdict
Charlie Appleby's PALLADAS carries a 7lb penalty following his maiden win at Kempton in January and has not been seen since, but he had class stamped all over that win and it's no disincentive that the runner-up was Al Azd, who's gone from strength to strength in such a major way subsequently. Star Of The Desert is his only serious rival on the ratings and may well be suited by this return to the AW after a lesser show on turf last time. Assiri Heights did little last July on his only appearance but he's a Juddmonte colt who was the 5-4 favourite that day.[Richard Austen]
