CLEW BAY (8) Resuming. Finished 7th last time at Ellerslie. Expecting improvement but dropping back to a shorter trip. Has shown early pace in races to date. Has the ability to figure. WINWOOD (2) Back after a break. Clearly outclassed when 9th last time at Rotorua but taking on easier opposition. Has a nice turn of foot. Worth strong consideration. LUCAN (1) Resuming after a 26 week spell. Not competitive when 8th last start at Otaki and dropping in distance. Should get going late. Will be there at the finish. HAPPY VENTURE (3) First up from a break of 31 weeks and was eating up the ground late to win first up last preparation at this venue. First race for a new trainer. Honest enough to be an each way player.
