High-class Italian import, GINOSTRABLIGGI (12) won the Gr.2 Prix Pierre Plazen on his first French start for Philippe Allaire, dominating generational leader MACK DE BLARY (11). Thierry Duvaldestin's colt exacted revenge in the Gr.1 Prix de l'Etoile 3 weeks later, but both have been reconfigured, and a marginal preference just goes to the Derby Italiano runner-up. A first-rate colt that has yet to be beaten over the main track, GOLDEN GIO (4) is similarly unbeaten for Matthieu Abrivard, and the new configuration will only work to their advantage. Allaire's second runner, MAGIC NIGHT (10) takes on the colts this time, but is on a hat-trick of Gr.2 victories and also sports modified shoeing.
