Ladbrokes ambassador Ben Jones has four rides at Aintree on Saturday, November 7, 2026, and he previews them all in his latest exclusive blog.

Baron du Brizais - Aintree - 12.40 race odds
Taurus Bay - Aintree - 2.25 race odds
French Ship - Aintree - 3.00 race odds
Bluey - Aintree - 3.35 race odds
I've got four rides at Aintree on Saturday, starting with a horse called Baron du Brizais in the novices' hurdle. There are only four runners in this but it looks like a very competitive one. There were a lot of entries earlier this week but I'd say looking at the declarations, a few have been scared off.
We like our horse, he does everything nice at home but obviously this is a massive ask, with the other three having run already. So I'd say we'll be going there, win, lose or draw, the experience will be good for him. If he runs a solid race, then everyone will be happy.
My second of the day is Taurus Bay, and this is very similar to the first in that we've kind of run out of options where to go with him regarding the ground. He's been ready to run for a few weeks now, and with the dry forecast next week and not much on the weekend, we've had to throw him in this one.
We obviously like him a lot, he's been schooling really well, but again there are horses in here with runs under their belts this season and a go over fences, which he's going to lack. But this is a good starting point. We know where we're at. If he can have a nice, clean run around, then hopefully his ability will get him to two out, and we can go from there.
French Ship is my third ride of the day for Philip Hobbs. This is one I had a bit of success on last season. He's a very, very good handicapper, and is highly rated here, and therefore carrying 12 stone. He's not the biggest so that wouldn't be a downfall, but he's in great order, he's schooling away well. He's fresh and ready to go, and he'll appreciate the better ground here.
Three miles is going to be a test for him because he hasn't really ran a solid race over that trip yet. But this ground, and with Aintree being a flat track... if he's going to cover three miles, it's definitely going to be here.
My last one is a horse called Bluey for Emma Lavelle. This is a fun little filly who also had a lot of success in her novice year last time out. She's going to have to step up this season, but hopefully she can. She's very well built, she's a brilliant jumper, she goes well fresh and therefore, if she's ready to rock and roll - which I'd imagine she is with Emma - then I'd like to think she can run a solid race for us.
In terms of my best chance of the day, I'd say Taurus or Bluey... I can't really split them. Taurus if he takes to it, and Bluey because she's just very consistent.
