Twistthenightaway - Ayr - 2.55 race odds
Keops Des Bordes - Ayr - 4.48 race odds
He has had an absolutely brilliant year. He won two hundred grand races at the start of the year and has been pretty consistent since. He’s up in the handicap because he’s done so well. He’s not getting any younger, but he is fresh and we kept him away from Aintree. I am sure he will run a big race.
We have had this race in mind for Diamond Dealer from mid-season. The owner won it before with a different horse and he comes into it in great form obviously. He looks great at home and he’s maintaining his training. When you get to this time of year some of them go over the top and the training is not as good, but he looks as good as he’s done all year. The track will suit him and there is a lot in his favour. It depends now how much a say the handicapper has had to be honest.
We run Tellherthename in the Scottish Champion Hurdle. We haven’t had him that long and this is only his second run for us. He ran nicely at Cheltenham; he met a wall of horses in the County Hurdle but I thought he ran quite well. He looks great and we are really happy with how he has been since. He has had some issues in the past but we feel like we are managing those and that he can run his best race here. The trip and ground are fine so I don’t have any negatives.
Twistthenightaway runs in a mares’ handicap hurdle and she’s appreciated stepping up in trip. She was up to three miles last time out which was good and I don’t see why she can’t run a massive race again. The handicapper has had a bit of a say, but I think she can be better than her mark. She is a nice mare and could go really well in this off a pretty low weight.
Keops Des Bordes runs in the bumper. He’s a horse we haven’t seen since he finished second to No Drama This End in a bumper some time ago at Warwick. He’s just had some niggly problems, nothing major. He is a very big, powerful horse, and we’ve stepped him forward quite a lot this month. He feels like he is fit and ready to go and that bumper form looks pretty tidy. I think he will go very well. He has been off the track and lacks a bit of sharpness so I’m not saying he’s just going to go and win but I think he has a big future.
