Ladbrokes provides its latest daily tip on day 35 of the 2026 World Cup
England face Argentina for the first time in over 20 years in their World Cup semi-final on Wednesday
We're predicting a red card to be shown in the match

Ladbrokes brings you its latest 2026 World Cup tip, with a red card tipped to be shown in England's crunch semi-final against Argentina on day 35.
The excitement is building as England get set to take on fierce rivals Argentina in the 2026 World Cup semi-final on Wednesday, July 15. It is a fixture steeped in history and controversy, both on and off the football pitch, and the two countries have not met in more than 20 years. All the ingredients are there for it to be a feisty affair, and for our day 35 World Cup tip, we're predicting a red card to be shown in England vs Argentina.
England and Argentina have played each other five times at the World Cup before, and the animosity goes all the way back to 1966, after which Three Lions manager Sir Alf Ramsey described the Argentinians as 'animals'. Antonio Rattin was sent off for Argentina in that game, having to be escorted off the pitch by the police. That was one of two red cards in this fixture at the World Cup, the other of course being David Beckham's in their last-16 clash in 1998.
Even the England-Argentina matches without red cards have produced plenty of controversy. The 'Hand of God' remains one of the most infamous moments in football history, while Argentinians remain convinced that Mauricio Pochettino did not foul Michael Owen for that penalty in 2002.
In the present day, there are plenty of players on both sides that will be up for it on Wednesday. Argentina centre-back Cristian Romero is a prime candidate to be amongst it, as are his compatriots Enzo Fernandez, Rodrigo De Paul and Lisandro Martinez, with Emi Martinez doing his best to wind up as many English players as possible.
England have already received one red card at this tournament through Jarell Quansah in Mexico, while Argentina's quarter-final saw a bizarre sending off for Switzerland's Breel Embolo. Three Lions talisman Jude Bellingham has a nasty streak which he has channelled brilliantly at this World Cup, but the Argies will try to get under his skin, while Anthony Gordon had a habit of picking up red cards in big games for Newcastle.
It should be a game full of intensity with an atmosphere the likes of which we have rarely seen. Two footballing powerhouses who do not like each other, at all, with a place in the World Cup final at stake. England are chasing their first final in 60 years, while defending champions Argentina are hoping to send Lionel Messi off with the perfect ending.
We're predicting that the pressure might get to someone, and that a red card will be shown in the World Cup semi-final between England and Argentina.
