2026/27 Premier League relegation: Tottenham now just 7/1 to go down

After their 3-2 defeat at home to Aston Villa, Spurs are now priced at just 7/1 to be relegated to the Championship, with their first goals of the new season coming as mere consolations in that defeat to another struggling side.

De Zerbi's men kicked off their season with an awful performance at Brentford, where a 3-0 defeat left them in the relegation zone right from the start, and things haven't really picked up at any point since. A 2-0 defeat to Newcastle in their first home game of the season followed that, before their first point came in a 0-0 draw away at Nottingham Forest - where they failed to register a single shot on target.

A second consecutive clean sheet followed in a 0-0 draw with Everton, where the performance gave fans a glimmer of hope, before the recent home defeat to Villa brought them crashing back to Earth and left them 20th in the league - as one of just three sides still without a win.

Despite seeing their odds crash to just 7/1, there are still plenty of teams considered more likely to go down than Spurs according to Ladbrokes' Premier League relegation market, including all three newly promoted teams - even if Hull have enjoyed a blistering start to life back in the top flight.

Crystal Palace, Fulham and Sunderland are also among the bookies' favourites for the drop, but with just two points from five games, Tottenham are once again firmly in the conversation - even after spending extortionate amounts of money in the summer transfer window.

Roberto De Zerbi's tenure hasn't taken off as of yet, even if he did just about guide Spurs to safety last term, and the Italian will certainly need to get a reaction after the international break if he wants to climb the hugely competitive table - and if he wants to keep his job.
