Noble Vow - Thirsk - 4.15 race odds
Great Bedwyn - Thirsk - 5.15 race odds
Fandom - Thirsk - 5.45 race odds
Almuhit - Thirsk - 6.15 race odds
Noble Vow ran at Haydock last week and won very nicely. He has gone up 7lbs after that, but I would imagine he is still very competitive. The trip is perfect and Thirsk is a straightforward track like Haydock. I think with that combination he should run really well despite going up in the weights quite steeply.
This is a fantastic horse who likes to be on a massive galloping track. He showed that at York last time out where he ran a massive race; he won it the year before. He ran into a horse who was arguably a lot better handicapped than he was, but he hasn’t gone up drastically for that performance. Like York, Thirsk is a great galloping track and I would imagine he will run a big race again. I think he is my best chance of the day.
We haven’t had Fandom long. He is a beautiful horse that has been doing things nicely. He was a 5f horse before he came here and we ran him over that trip at Goodwood and found that much too quick for him. When he stepped up to six furlongs at York the time after, he ran a very big race. That gave us the impression that he wasn’t far away from winning and Thirsk is a straightforward track. That should see him being competitive.
He stays well but likes to dictate and be in control on the front end. He has been able to do that at Newbury where he won but wasn’t able to do it at Musselburgh last time out. If he can get out in front and dictate, then he has a huge chance, but if he doesn’t, he could run similarly to the way he did in Musselburgh.
