US Open semi-finals predictions and best bets

It's a blockbuster semi-final as Carlos Alcaraz meets Novak Djokovic in their first US Open clash, with the Spaniard chasing a sixth Slam after cruising through the draw without dropping a set. Djokovic, a four-time champion in New York, leads their head-to-head 5–3 after winning the last two and brings unmatched experience to this stage, but with Alcaraz’s flawless form and relentless energy, we’re backing him to edge past the Serbian into the final.

Aryna Sabalenka takes on Jessica Pegula in a repeat of the 2024 US Open final, with both players yet to drop a set this fortnight. The defending champion Sabalenka leads their rivalry 7–2, including victory in the Miami final in March, and has looked ruthless once again in New York. Pegula, the world number four, has been solid throughout but Sabalenka’s power and confidence on hard courts make her the favourite to reach the final.

Jannik Sinner meets Felix Auger-Aliassime as the world number one looks to extend his dominant run towards a third Grand Slam of 2025. The reigning champion has been imperious in New York, not dropping a set and breezing past Lorenzo Musetti and Alexander Bublik in the last two rounds. Auger-Aliassime, an Olympic bronze medallist and 2021 US Open semi-finalist, has produced a superb run with wins over Zverev, Rublev and De Minaur, but Sinner’s class should see him through in straight sets.

Naomi Osaka faces Amanda Anisimova in a semi-final brimming with storylines. Anisimova bounced back from her humiliating Wimbledon final defeat to Iga Swiatek by knocking out the Pole in the quarter-finals, and leads Osaka 2–0 in their head-to-head, though their last meeting came in 2022. Osaka, a two-time US Open champion and four-time Slam winner, has never failed to win a major after progressing past the fourth round, and with her pedigree in New York, we’re backing her to come through a tight battle.

US Open 2025 odds: who are the favourites?

US Open Men's Singles winner odds

Defending champion Jannik Sinner is the 8/11 favourite as he looks to add a third Slam of 2025 after Wimbledon. The world number one has been dominant on hard courts and continues to set the standard at the top of the men’s game. Carlos Alcaraz (13/10) is his biggest rival, the 2022 champion aiming for a second US Open crown after sharing the last seven majors with Sinner.

Novak Djokovic (11/1) remains in contention for a record 25th Grand Slam and can never be ruled out at this stage of the competition, while Felix Auger-Aliassime (33/1) has surged into a second US Open semi-final after ousting Zverev, Rublev and De Minaur.

US Open Women's Singles winner odds

Aryna Sabalenka (1/1) is back in the spotlight as the defending champion storms into the last four, barely tested so far and looking every inch the frontrunner to retain her crown in New York. Naomi Osaka (13/5) has been the revelation of the fortnight, rediscovering the power form that made her a two-time US Open winner and reminding the field of her perfect record of turning deep Slam runs into titles.

Amanda Anisimova (7/2) bounced back from her one-sided Wimbledon final defeat to Iga Swiatek in stunning fashion, upsetting the second seed in the quarter-finals to reach the last four with momentum on her side. Jessica Pegula (15/2) completes the semi-final line-up, the world number four looking to avenge her 2024 final defeat to Sabalenka in front of a home crowd.
