Wimbledon 2025 preview

Wimbledon is back for another year of quality tennis, royal box appearances and high-speed battles on the famous grass courts of the All England Club.

As the only Grand Slam played on grass, Wimbledon demands precision, agility and instinctive tennis. Big serves, quick reactions and net skills often prove more valuable than long rallies or brute force.

Carlos Alcaraz will be aiming for his third consecutive Men's Singles title on Centre Court, while on the Ladies' side of the draw Barbora Krejčíková won as a surprise outsider in 2024.

Wimbledon 2025 odds: who are the favourites?

Wimbledon Men's Singles odds

Carlos Alcaraz is the new favourite to win the Wimbledon 2025 Men's Singles at odds of 4/5, after following up his victory in Paris by winning at Queen's.

Jannik Sinner comes next at odds of 2/1, with the bookies anticipating these two generational talents could meet again after their blockbuster final at Roland Garros.

Novak Djokovic is also odds of 9/2 to win Wimbledon for the 8th time as he seeks out a 25th major title. He made the semi-finals of Roland Garros before losing in straight sets to Sinner.

Taylor Fritz is the remaining semi-finalist after a great run at SW19, and is odds of 16/1 to go all the way.

Wimbledon Ladies' Singles odds

Aryna Sabalenka is now the odds-on favourite to win the Ladies' Singles at Wimbledon 2025 at odds of 5/6. The Belarusian world number one has made seven finals in 2025, but lost both major finals in Melbourne and Paris.

Iga Swiatek is a clay-court specialist but is yet to make it past the quarter-finals here, and has been in poor form this year. The Polish 5-time major winner is second favourite at 19/10.

Amanda Anisimova, who's seen plenty of her American compatriots fall by the wayside, comes in at odds of 6/1.

Belinda Bencic (11/1) are also in with a chance, with the women's draw wide open after plenty of upsets.

Betting on Wimbledon

Popular betting markets

Tennis betting offers a wide range of markets and opportunities. Some of the most popular include:

  • Outright winner: Bet on who will lift the trophy on Centre Court.
  • Each-way betting: Receive a pay out if your player makes the final, which can be a smart play in a wide field.
  • Match betting: Pick winners on a game-by-game basis throughout the tournament.
  • Set betting: Predict the exact scoreline - ideal for when heavy favourites face lower-seeded opponents.
  • In-play betting: With quick points and sudden shifts in rhythm on grass, live betting at Wimbledon can be a great opportunity if you can react to momentum swings early.

Wimbledon betting tips

  • Serve dominance matters: Big servers and strong first-strike players tend to thrive on grass, where short points and fast conditions suit their game.

  • Early exits happen: Wimbledon has a history of shock defeats in week one, especially if top seeds draw dangerous grass-court specialists early.

  • Weather watch: While Centre Court has a roof, outside courts are weather-dependent. A wet surface can make grass even trickier to navigate.

  • Fast-start specialists: With best-of-three in the women’s draw and short rallies across the board, backing players who start quickly can pay off.

  • Grass form counts: Recent results at Queen’s, Halle and Eastbourne are strong indicators of who’s adapted early to the surface.
