AC Milan have already fallen seven points behind rivals and Serie A leaders Inter Milan ahead of facing off in the Milan derby on Saturday night.

The Rossoneri lost 4-2 to Bologna on Wednesday to end their unbeaten start in the Italian top flight, with defending champions Inter remaining unbeaten with seven wins from their first eight games, most recently dispatching Venezia 2-0 away from home. While Inter stormed ahead of their rivals to clinch the Serie A title again last season, AC Milan won both league encounters 1-0, so this game is sure to be a tough one to predict.

Marcus Thuram to score

With Lautaro Martinez still injured, Marcus Thuram will be Inter's main goal threat after registering nine goal contributions in eight Serie A matches this season. The France striker has either scored or provided an assist in every game since his first appearance of the season and looks one of the most difficult players in the league to stop right now. We're backing him to net for the third time in the derby.

Goncalo Ramos to have 1+ shots on target

As far as Milan are concerned, they will have Goncalo Ramos leading the line, having started in all nine of AC Milan's Serie A matches this season following his move from Paris Saint-Germain. The Portugal striker's goalscoring numbers have been slightly more modest so far, scoring three times in 11 appearances so far, but the 25-year-old is still producing 1.1 shots on target per match and 2.2 shots per 90 mins overall and we're backing that trend to continue here.

Both teams to score

Goalscoring has not been an issue for either of these teams this season, with Inter leading the charts with 25 goals in just nine matches, while Ruben Amorim's side's record of 18 in nine is also promising. Each side has found the net in all nine of their Serie A games this term, so a both teams to score selection feels like the right way forward.

Inter Milan to win or draw

The odds are leaning towards an Inter Milan victory here, but we have opted for a double chance offering which includes a draw, with the Nerazzurri potentially affected by injuries at this busy stage of the season. Inter actually haven't beaten Milan in their last seven meetings, with five defeats in that time, suggesting their rivals have something of a hold over them in this fixture of late. While we do think Inter look in good shape to end that run, a double chance covers your bases if the Rossoneri manage to win a point.
