Ladbrokes share predictions for Crystal Palace vs Newcastle United in the Premier League
Palace are tipped to win or draw, with over 1.5 goals to be scored
Jean-Philippe Mateta is backed for a shot on target with Joelinton shown a card

Just a point separates Crystal Palace and Newcastle United in the bottom half of the Premier League ahead of their meeting on Sunday afternoon.
Neither side is particularly firing on all cylinders, with just one victory each in their last four Premier League games, as managers Pierre Sage and Matthias Jaissle look to find the right formula early on in their reigns. Palace followed up a dismal 5-0 defeat to rivals Brighton last weekend with a 2-2 draw against Besiktas in the Europa League, while Newcastle lost 1-0 at home to Aston Villa last time out.

Jean-Philippe Mateta should lead the line for the Eagles after scoring in Turkey on Thursday, with Jorgen Strand Larsen struggling to have an impact in recent weeks. The France striker is the joint-top scorer in this fixture with four goals and will be in confident mood to at least test the goalkeeper with a shot at home.
Joelinton has been a strong pick for a card over recent years for the Magpies and it looks like more of the same this season, after picking up a booking in each of his two league appearances since returning from injury. The Brazilian is a physical presence in midfield, which will be needed away from home in South London, so is the preferred option to be shown a card in what could be a tough game between two struggling sides.
Palace's defence has been their downfall this season, conceding a league-leading 17 goals in their seven Premier League games so far, so there should be chances for Newcastle in this game. They've also scored in all four of their home games in all competitions this term, while Newcastle are without a clean sheet in the league since August, so the 1.5 goals threshold feels likely to be breached.
Finally, we've backed a Crystal Palace win or draw to round off our Bet Builder. Newcastle have either lost or drawn in each of their last five visits to Selhurst Park, winning only one of their last 11 away to the Eagles. A double-chance selection covers your bases should the hosts snatch another win.
