Brentford have been one of the early season pacesetters, with impressive big wins over Tottenham and Chelsea already, but suffered their first defeat of the campaign last time out as they were reduced to nine men against Liverpool. Keith Andrews' side are currently 6th.
Hull were widely expected to struggle following their promotion but pulled off a shock 2-0 win against Man Utd on the opening day, before a 1-0 win at fellow newcomers Coventry a week later. However, the Tigers are now without a win in their last five after losing 1-0 away to Fulham last week.
The Bees look like one of the best teams in the league, while there are signs that Hull may be regressing to the mean, so we think Brentford will have enough to return victorious from the MKM Stadium.
Both teams have scored in every single one of Brentford's away games this season, and they will be missing key defensive midfielders Vitaly Janelt and Yehor Yarmoliuk, so Hull may be able to create chances. However, Sergej Jakirovic's team are without a clean sheet in any of the last four themselves, and in Igor Thiago, Kevin Schade and company, it could be a tough task keeping the Bees' frontline quiet. We're backing both teams to score.
Kevin Schade has had a decent start to the season, with three Premier League goals to his name already in 2026/27. Schade is averaging one shot on target per game this season, and has had at least one shot on target in every away game this season. We're tipping Schade to continue that trend with another here.
Matt Crooks and Regan Slater have formed a solid midfield duo for Hull in the season's early stages, providing the platform for the Tigers' wing-backs to fly forward. They can occasionally get caught out, and Crooks has already collected four yellow cards in seven games, with no player in the league picking up more. We're tipping Crooks to get booked again.
