Atlanta and Tampa Bay face off in a tone-setter for the NFC South, with both matchups in 2024 clearing 50 points as the Falcons won twice. Michael Penix Jr begins his second season with elite weapons in the shape of Bijan Robinson and Drake London.

The Buccaneers have won four division titles on the spin and can rely on the evergreen connection between Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans, plus running back Bucky Irving and first-round pick Emeka Egbuka. With offensive firepower on both sides and less stellar defenses, the over 47.5 points total looks a strong play.

Jacksonville plays Carolina as the two teams with the worst records in 2024 meet on the opening weekend. Liam Coen makes his debut as Jaguars head coach with Trevor Lawrence looking to take another step forward in his fifth season.

Rookie sensation Travis Hunter is expected to contribute on both sides of the ball, but the standout scoring option may be Brian Thomas Jr, who found the end zone 10 times last year. Against a Panthers defense that ranked 32nd in points allowed, he looks primed for another anytime TD.
