It's getting increasingly desperate for Tottenham, as they are running out of games to save themselves from a scarcely believable relegation from the Premier League. With five games left, Spurs sit in 18th, two points adrift of safety. They're on a dreadful run of fifteen Premier League games without a win and are yet to taste victory in the league in 2026. Roberto De Zerbi has been drafted in to save them, and they showed encouraging signs in their last game against his former side Brighton, but they conceded a devastating 95th-minute equaliser to leave their players and fans shellshocked.
On paper, Spurs have a good-looking fixture away to already-relegated bottom side Wolves, but under Rob Edwards they have been no pushovers at home. Wolves have won two and drawn one of their last three games at Molineux - against Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool, who are all currently in the top five. Additionally, Wolves are unbeaten against Tottenham in their last six games, winning four of those, and Spurs have not won at Molineux since 2021. With the pressure all on the visitors and Wolves potentially liberated now relegation is confirmed, we think Tottenham's wait for a win will go on, with Saturday's game finishing 1-1.
Both teams have scored in each of the last five meetings between Wolves and Tottenham, so we're predicting that trend to continue this time around. Wolves have kept just four clean sheets all season, and their top two goalkeepers are both injured, while Spurs have conceded in all of their last fourteen league games.
It's been a frustrating, injury-hit campaign for Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke, who's made only ten Premier League starts this season and scored just three goals. The England forward was called up to the previous squad, but failed to make an impact, although encouragingly he's made six successive starts. Solanke appears to be De Zerbi's man up front, playing the full ninety in both of his games, and has been more involved lately. He's had at least one shot on target in four of the last five games, with two or more on target in three of those. We're backing Solanke to test the keeper at least once at Molineux.
Brazil international Joao Gomes is likely to be among the big names departing Molineux at the end of the season now that their relegation has been confirmed. The defensive midfielder is one of their few quality players, but is a familiar name in the ref's notebook, having collected 11 yellow cards in all competitions. The Brazilian enforcer has been booked in each of Wolves' last two home games, and was also shown a yellow card in the reverse fixture against Spurs earlier this season. We're tipping Joao Gomes to get booked again on Saturday.
