With nine days to go until the start of the 2026 World Cup, Ladbrokes takes a look at nine former Premier League managers who will be at the World Cup this summer.
From title winners to relegation battlers, and everything in between, a number of Premier League managers will be coaching at the tournament this summer, and we've picked out nine of the most noteworthy to focus on here - with some taking charge at an international tournament for the very first time.
1. Thomas Tuchel (England)
2. Carlo Ancelotti (Brazil)
3. Marcelo Bielsa (Uruguay)
4. Mauricio Pochettino (USA)
5. Roberto Martinez (Portugal)
6. Dick Advocaat (Curacao)
7. Graham Potter (Sweden)
8. Ralf Rangnick (Austria)
9. Ronald Koeman (Netherlands)
England manager Thomas Tuchel had a short but successful stint in the Premier League, guiding Chelsea to Champions League glory and a third-placed finish in the 2021/22 campaign, and will manage at his first-ever World Cup this summer - with his Three Lions side entering as one of the outright favourites to go all the way.
The same can be said for Carlo Ancelotti too, with the new Brazil manager leading a nation into the tournament for the first time in his career. The serial winner did earn a runners-up medal in 1994 as Italy's assistant manager, but now in charge of the Selecao, he will look to use all of his experience - which includes a Premier League and FA Cup trophy from his time at Chelsea.
Marcelo Bielsa is in charge of Uruguay these days, and while he didn't lift the trophies of the previous two, he has gone down in history as one of Leeds' most loved managers, guiding them back to the top flight. Then we have Mauricio Pochettino, one of the most acclaimed Premier League managers of the last decade, with spells at Southampton, Spurs, and Chelsea. His experience is a huge reason why co-hosts USA are fancied to do so well in Group D this summer, but he will have to work a miracle if he wants to be lifting another trophy come July.
Next up is former Wigan and Everton manager Roberto Martinez, who took the reins at Portugal in 2023. His biggest achievement is probably guiding Wigan to their only-ever FA Cup triumph, but having already won the Nations League with Portugal, he'll be dreaming of adding a World Cup to his honours list. Then we have Dick Advocaat, who has managed more than 25 different teams in his career - including Sunderland in 2015 - and is guiding Curacao into their debut World Cup, but they'll do well to get any points out of a difficult Group E.
Graham Potter is the most recent Premier League manager on this list, sitting in the West Ham hot seat as recently as September 2025, but the former Brighton and Chelsea coach will be managing Sweden this summer - a country where his reputation could hardly be higher ahead of the World Cup. Ralf Rangnick will also be at the World Cup this year, taking charge of Austria. The former Manchester United interim manager was only in England for a few months, not even completing a full season, and didn't pull up any trees - but he has so far succeeded in Austria, taking them to a first World Cup since 1998.
The ninth former Premier League manager we've picked out is Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman, who managed Southampton and Everton in the top flight. Koeman has raised some eyebrows as Netherlands manager with strange comments and debatable team selections, but with a strong, balanced squad at his disposal, the Barcelona legend will be dreaming of going all the way.
Ladbrokes is celebrating the World Cup countdown with a new price boost every day between now and the start of the tournament, with today's offer looking at the Golden Boot race - and more specifically, England captain Harry Kane.
With one World Cup Golden Boot already in his locker, Harry Kane's odds of claiming another this summer have been boosted to 8/1, which offers excellent value when you consider Kane's current form, his record for England, and his Group L opponents in North America.
