Ladbrokes share predictions for Aston Villa vs Viking FK in the Champions League
Aston Villa predicted to win 2-0, as they maintain their perfect UCL record
Johan Manzambi tipped for a shot on target, while Henrik Heggheim picks up a card

After an alarming start to the 2026/27 season, Aston Villa have certainly found their form, and they're overwhelming favourites to make it three Champions League wins from three as they welcome Norwegian side Viking FK to Villa Park.
Unai Emery's men have won four of their last five in all competitions, hitting Fenerbahce for six last week as they maintained their excellent home record in Europe, but with Viking arriving off the back of an eye-catching draw against Bayern Munich, can the visitors cause a second upset in as many matches?

After failing to score in their first three games of the season, Aston Villa have found the net in all of the following seven - scoring 12 in their last four - so we're expecting to see more goals at Villa Park, with the hosts bagging at least two. Only PSG have scored more than Villa's nine in the Champions League so far, and having notched two or more in each of their last seven European home games, their threat is clear to see - especially against a Viking side who have conceded three goals in both of their UCL games this term.
Another goal at the weekend took Johan Manzambi's tally to three already in all competitions, and having scored on his Champions League debut last week, we're expecting him to threaten again with at least one shot on target. The 21-year-old is averaging almost 1.5 efforts on target per 90 in the Premier League, which is more than any other Villa player, and with that average also staying true in the Champions League, it's little wonder he's odds-on to test Arild Ostbo in the Viking goal here.
The bookies have priced right-back Henrik Heggheim as the favourite to pick up a card on Wednesday night, and with an average of more than two fouls committed per 90 in the Eliteserien, it's not hard to see why. The 25-year-old has impressed with his attacking threat in the league this season, but has often been caught out going the other way, collecting four yellow cards in the process - so against the likes of Ibrahim Mbaye and Nicolas Jackson, our experts are predicting a torrid evening for Heggheim, who has completed just one tackle in two UCL games so far.
Last week's 6-0 victory broke a number of records for Aston Villa, and with Unai Emery's side last losing a European game at Villa Park back in May 2024, we aren't expecting them to encounter too many issues on Wednesday night. Viking can clearly cause teams problems, demonstrated by their draw with Bayern last week, but with Villa losing just once since August - and looking to make it three crucial wins from three in the UCL - it would take something drastic for Viking to get a result here.
