Victory in this West Midlands clash would no doubt lift morale and ensure bragging rights, with the rivals facing off for the first time in 25 years, making it a cup game with much higher importance than it might usually do.

Alysson Edward got his first Premier League goal on Saturday, albeit in a 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest, and the young Brazilian looks likely to be rewarded with a start in the cup. The winger had two shots despite playing only 20 minutes in the Champions League against Club Brugge before heading in the equaliser at Villa Park, and we're predicting him to test the goalkeeper in this game.
Coventry's start in the Premier League could hardly have been more difficult, failing to score in their four league games so far and conceding 10 goals. While they netted four in the previous round against Plymouth Argyle, it is against Premier League opposition where they have really struggled and we're predicting the Sky Blues' troubles to continue.
Villa only scored their first league goal of the season against Forest, but they did score three away in the Champions League and are still showing small signs of improvement despite their tough start. That said, we're not expecting Villa to blow their rivals away, with a maximum of two goals for the visitors.
The final pick of our Bet Builder is for Villa to win in 90 minutes and secure their place in the Carabao Cup fourth round. The Europa League showed Villa's capability to go deep in a cup competition this season and Coventry's priorities might be more focused on surviving in the league, so we think the visitors will get the job done.
