With last season's thriller still fresh in the memory, our experts are predicting (and hoping for) another blockbuster Champions League night under the lights at Anfield, with over 3.5 goals being scored in the match. Liverpool have scored two goals in each of their three Premier League games this season, while Atletico have notched seven in their last four, and with just one clean sheet apiece so far this term, both teams will be ready to pounce.
Alexander Isak grabbed his first Liverpool brace against Ipswich last week, taking his tally for the season to three already, and with the Swede still hunting for his first Champions League goal for the club, we're tipping him to test Jan Oblak at least twice. Isak is averaging almost two shots on target per 90 this season, and appears to be growing in confidence by the week, so as he continues to lead the line for Andoni Iraola's men, he'll be provided with plenty of chances.
If there's one thing you can expect from a Diego Simeone side, it's relentless intensity, and we think that'll be epitomised by defender Marc Pubill - who Ladbrokes are tipping to pick up a card. The 23-year-old is committing just under two fouls a game this season, and has already been booked once in La Liga, so on one of the biggest nights of his young career, we're expecting the electric attacking threat of Liverpool to catch him out.
After finally winning in the league last week, Liverpool will be desperate to make it back-to-back victories under Andoni Iraola, giving the new boss his first Anfield win - and that's exactly what we're expecting to happen. Liverpool have actually won all of the last three meetings between these two sides, scoring eight goals in the process, and with Atleti arriving off the back of a 3-0 defeat to Athletic Club, the visitors will be bang up against it in front of a raucous crowd.
