Ladbrokes previews Arthur Fery vs Alexander Zverev in the Wimbledon semi-finals
British sensation Fery is first wildcard to reach semi-finals since 2001
French Open champion Zverev looking to make first Wimbledon final

Ladbrokes brings you its full preview for the Wimbledon semi-final between Arthur Fery and Alexander Zverev, as the British wildcard looks to continue his fairytale run against the man who was recently crowned a Grand Slam champion for the first time at Roland Garros.
Zverev is the heavy favourite to win the match at odds of 2/15, while Fery is priced at 9/2 to continue his remarkable story into the final.
Ranked outside the top 100 in the world prior to Wimbledon, 23-year-old Brit Arthur Fery has enjoyed a magical run to the Wimbledon semi-finals after being handed a wildcard by the All England Club that allowed him to enter the main draw. Fery has become the first wildcard since 2001 to reach the last four, and that was Goran Ivanisevic, who memorably went on to win the tournament. Fery, who grew up in Wimbledon, saw off Gregor Dimitrov in a thrilling fifth-set tiebreak in the fourth round, before producing his most impressive performance of the tournament so far with a victory over 9th-seed and Roland Garros finalist Flavio Cobolli in straight sets.
Alexander Zverev finally broke his Grand Slam duck at the French Open in his third final, taking advantage of a wide-open draw that Carlos Alcaraz didn't enter and Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic exited early. The German is now enjoying his best performance at Wimbledon, having never previously advanced beyond the fourth round. Zverev has dropped just two sets all tournament, and delivered a high-level display to beat last year's semi-finalist Taylor Fritz in straight sets in the quarter-final.
These two have never faced off in a professional match before, so there is an unknown element for both players. Fery is peaking at the right time and has nothing to lose at this point, with momentum and the crowd firmly behind him. However, Zverev is the tournament's 2nd-seed for a reason, and his maiden Major triumph may have liberated him from the pressure that used to accompany him in the latter stages of Grand Slams in the past. Zverev had lost his last seven meetings with Fritz before their quarter-final and had no trouble swatting him aside. We're rooting for a hometown hero, and Fery will put up one hell of a fight, but we think that Zverev will advance to his second consecutive Grand Slam final.
Prediction: Zverev 3-2 Fery
